Unlocking environmental data at scale through AI-powered EPD and PEP decoding

Overview

Bravida AB is one of the Nordic region’s leading providers of end-to-end solutions for electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and other technical building services.

To meet growing demands for sustainability data and increasing volumes of environmental documentation, Bravida partnered with Ecometrix in a pilot project using AI-driven technology to decode environmental reports and certificates.

The result was a scalable approach for transforming complex PDF documentation into structured, actionable data, accelerating workflows and unlocking the full value of EPDs and PEPs at article level.

The Challenge

Bravida needed to make environmental product data from EPDs and PEPs usable at scale.

Critical sustainability information was locked in unstructured PDF documents, making system integration, sustainability analysis, and product-level reporting highly manual and time-consuming.

As document volumes is increasing, so is the administrative burden of extracting and structuring the data.

The Solution

Using the Cicero platform, we decoded and structured approximately 200 EPDs and PEPs into system-ready data. The platform extracted, validated, and standardized environmental information across 1,000 product articles.

The Results

The pilot achieved over 95% accuracy, transforming previously inaccessible document data into scalable, machine-readable information ready for operational systems and sustainability workflows.

Why It Matters

The construction industry is rich in data, but much of it remains locked in PDFs.
By making environmental data accessible, structured, and scalable, Bravida strengthens its ability to:

  • Support more efficient and transparent product assessments
  • Enable shorter time to customer through fast access to relevant data
  • Ability to focus on the evaluation, rather than the data extraction. Enabling more time for value added and fun work
